Chow: yeah! class is managable. Free and easy system. walk out anytime during lecture is allowed. I'm sure you'll love the system. yah! maybe u all visit LA next yr. when I can drive real well by then and know LA real well. so can bring you guys around with shuwei. haha! Then shuwei and I wont take winter class for next yr or sth. I thought Serangoon has got nice food there? Chomp Chomp? hahaha
Okay! first day of school.
lots to say...
professor hasnt start teaching so I have no idea if he's good or nt. but he shld be good.
Oh he doesnt like us to call him professor. He prefers being called Scot, his first name.
Cool huh! If only I can call the teachers in st nicks by their first name.
So I'll be calling out na mei instead of zhuang lao shi. geraint instead of mr wong and susan instead of ms lim. hahaha!
Will be having quiz twice a week and given homework twice a week.
Quiz will contribute to 60% of final grade.
30% from Exam and 10% from homeworks.
okay.. what I find maths here simpler as compared to Singapore, is that, for Scot, he'll be setting them in MCQ format.
It sounds fun and easy at first but come tot hink of it, it's actually better to have it as structured.
cause two mistake will get me a B. three mistake will get me a C. four a D and five an F.
for those who doesnt know how to do, it'll be to their advantage lar.
But for those who know, and happen to make careless mistakes, will die. haha!
Textbook used is damn thick! but I like it.
thicker books make me look smarter carrying them. hahaha!!
yar its ex. I bought second hand book, like many others. it cost me sixty seven bucks.
But thats the point. you buy them and sell them back after you end your lesson at the end of the sixth week.
realise notebooks here are costly too. six plus for a norm single line notebook. which cost ten sin dollars.
I could have gotten it for less than three frm popular bookshop. haahaa..
but its okay. Mum gave me the money, I keep the leftover! I kope some cash..
oh another thing: I'm in the same class as shuwei's brother.
I was glad when I could open my mouth and talk. cause I didnt have any friend.
Man! it's seriously hard to make friends.
There's no way I get the chance... URGH!
shuwei: your brother told me he got car okay! He couldnt buy parking ticket. so parked it qt far away. and he was sitting on the floor today. cause came late and the class can occupy just nice 45 ppl. but there were 18 on waiting list and attended the class. so he ended up on the floor..
I finally understand why Singaporeans are crazee abt technology while the ppl here norm dont bother abt all these. Eversince I came here, I never touch my ipod. I forgot to bring my cellphone out with me a few times. It's like, I will die if I dont have a phone with me in Singapore but its nt the case here. I think its because there are so many fun things we can do here tt techology becomes redundant. Unlike in Singapore where there is nth much to do. So everyone is so into the latest gadgets and stuff like tt. well no offence duh! Just trying to get my point across. Cause its a good thing for me. I dont have to spend money on them.
